Kitchen Cabinet Construction

I would like to obtain opinions on the value of the various cabinet construction options available to me from my kitchen cabinet dealer.

The kitchen cabinets I am considering have a 3/4" solid wood framing w/ 1/2" sides, top, and bottom plus 1/2" I-Bean braces, 3/4" thick shelves and dovetail drawers with 3/4" all-wood sides

The standard feature appears to be an 'engineered' wood (particle wood?) for the sides, tops, and bottom. (A)

There are plywood options available are:

B) Cabinets with plywood ends and 3/8" furniture board for the back (costs 15% more) - or -

C) Cabinets with all plywood construction (costs 20% more).

Any suggestions on whether I should go with A, B or C?

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the backs but would prefer no particle board anywhere else.

Plywood is the most dimensionally stable material. Do not allow any "particle board" in any area requiring structural strength.

Cabinets

Option C. The wall cabinets are supported on the wall by the backs.

Glad you asked. Some folks would simply go with the cheapest and be disappointed later.

True, but there should be wood cleats across the back which the screws would go thru to anchor the cabinet.
