Lightening/bleaching vintage teak furniture
Hello,
I recently purchased a Danish modern sofa set and then, separately, I found the end table that is supposed to go with the set. While they are meant to go together and both made of teak, the end table is a lot darker and redder than the sofas, which are more honey colored. I was wondering if it is possible to lighten the teak table so it would be a closer match to the other wood. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I don't know much about finishing teak but generally it's easier to go darker than lighter. To go lighter you'd need to strip off the existing finish and start over .... providing the wood itself is light enough to get where you want. mmm IMO you'd be better off embracing the difference.
