Small question

I used to buy 8" X 4" pine boards for my personal house furniture needs. Having said that usually one boards fulfills my needs for months. My working place is quite humid and after a couple of weeks I finish with a U shaped board!!! Due to this all my cuttings are inaccurate and the finishing looks really bad.
Do you have an idea how I can avoid such thing from happening?

Thanks in advance
ROBERT

FRobert:

I assume you're talking about a 1X4 that's 8 feet long. If that's the case, buy a couple of firring strips (1X2X8) and attach them to the underside with screws. Fasten them so the grain of the board and the 1X2 is at right angles - in other words the narrow edge of the 1X2 is attached to the 1X4 down the entire length - one on each edge. This should give you a stable piece...
