Release Letter

i was working in a MNC company and i have just resigned as i have got a job in a GOVT sector. As per my appointment letter i have to give 2 months notice period ... due to the terms and conditions from my new appointment letter i have to join within fifteen days else it will treated as withdrawn. So i have given a 13 days notice period . They have not accepted my resignation. and they told me, if you want to get released then complete your pending works. Basically i was working as a sales executive and i had some outstanding payment to be collected from the customers.. accordingly i have completed all of my pending duties, But still they are not ready to release me ... and threatning me that they will take legal action against me
Please help...

A consultation with an attorney who specializes in employment law would be informative, especially since the employer threatened legal action. Because you did not give a two-month notice, it is not likely that the employer will be very cooperative. Terms of release tend to vary from area to area and among industries.
