crayon melted in dryer!

One of my kids had a crayon in his pocket that came out in the laundry and melted all inside the dryer and clothes. It came right out of the clothing after a second wash but the dryer is another story. I've tried all-purpose cleaners, that Mr. Clean miracle sponge thing, SOS pads, dishwasher detergent and a very scary attempt at a cleaner that I wasn't supposed to use near a heat source.

The chunky remnants are out. Nothing has worked to get the baked on stain.

Any ideas?

Crayon

Crayola's favorite cleaner for crayon is WD-40, but rubbing alcohol or other household solvent cleaner will do. Apply to white rag and rub interior of dryer drum. Never pour cleaner into dryer. Continue to wipe until no more crayon comes off on rag. Then, run two old towels through a drying cycle to assure that no crayon residue is left that may get on laundry.

What about hard plastic that went through dryer?

I know this is an old post, but I just had something similar happen yesterday, except that it was hard black plastic. Same technique?
