Rub gently along the grain, using dry, super-fine, #0000 steel wool or a cloth dampened with camphorated oil or mineral spirits. Wipe clean and wax or polish. (Always test any DIY method in inconspicuous place first.) If damage is severe, the table top will need to be refinished.
