Question cinnamon stain on carpet

My yougest daughter dumped cinnamon on my bedroom's carpet. My oldest daugter tried cleaning it with wet rag. The result is a brownish/red stain on my beige carpet. Any suggestions on how to get it up. I don't know what to do.

Vaccum it to make sure all the dry material is gone. A enzyme based spotter should work well. They can be found at your local home improvement store or even pet stores. Apply to area, dont use too much...as in your case it sounds to be more of a topical cleaning than something deep in the carpet. Let sit10-15 mins blot using the hottest water available. Do not rub carpet. Rubbing carpet can cause pile distortion which is permanent.

Red stains left by cinnamon should be soluble in rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol, or dry cleaning fluid. Test first in inconspicuous area for any ill effects on unstable dyes. Then, blot from outside stain toward middle with solvent on rag. Continue to blot until stain has been removed. Do not rub. If in doubt, contact a carpet cleaning professional.
