Oil stains
When cooking the other day I mixed white wine and oil together and basically exploded it all over my kitchen.I am fine, a few insignificant burns, but my bamboo rug and silk tapestry are not. Any suggestions on how to get the oil out?

Professional cleaning is recommended for silk tapestries. Manufacturers of bamboo rugs recommend periodical cleaning with damp cloth. Solvent cleaner, which is usually recommended for blotting oil stains, would likely take a toll on finish or unstable dye in binding. Always test any DIY cleaning method in an inconspicuous place first for ill effects.
