Red face candle wax on suede

HELP PLEASE: Have a bed spread that is made of suede, spilled hot candle wax on it. How can I remove the candle wax without damaging the suede? Any ideas that will work for this?

If it's real leather, I'd take it to a professional. If it's imitation (no insult intended, there are some great looking imitation suedes out there), there might be options. Post back with what the material actually is and we can go from there.

The bedspread is probably cotton or polyester suede or a blend of the two and is a washable faux suede product. Scrape off excess wax with dull knife or spoon. Placing wax stain between layers of paper towels and using warm iron to lift wax out of fabric is frequently recommended for wax removal from fabrics. The heat, however, can set colored candle dye. Blotting from outside toward center of affected area with rubbing alcohol, denatured alcohol, or dry cleaning fluid and white cloth will remove wax residue after scraping off excess. (Always test DIY cleaning methods in inconspicuous place first before proceeding.)
