Unhappy adhesive tape residue on silk

I have a silk handmade quilt that has residue from masking tape used to guide quilting lines. I have spent 18months creating it to give to my son as a wedding gift. Help needed urgently !!!!

You can try using rubbing alcohol applied to a rag and very gently blotting. Silk can be distorted very easily. If that doesnt work. You may want to get a dry cleaning solvent...that is a VDS..which means...it drys fast, is water-less and leaves no residue.

wd-40 is a nvds solvent, so it would need a vds to remove the residue from it.
