Stains On White Down Coat

I have a white down coat that recently became stained. I haven't found the exact culprit of the stain but I believe it to be either makeup or (God help me) the remains of recently dyed hair.

Either way, I now I have pinkish-red splotches on the shoulder of my favorite coat and after multiple washings, the white is shining brilliantly and the stains haven't lightened.

Please Help Me!

If its hair dye your stains may be permanent. Makeup can be removed using a solvent..such as rubbing alcohol or products such as POG Paint-Oil-Grease

Apply to rag and blot..if using the rubbing alcohol..you do not need to rinse afterwards..if using the POG you will need a dry cleaning solvent (VDS) to rinse the oily residue off.

But again, since the coat has been laundered serveral times this action may of set the stain. Test any DIY cleaning method first in a hidden area like the inside of the coat..for color fastness and any other ill effects.

Good Luck
