Post Candle wax on wood furniture

Help!
A packet of citronella candles were left on our jarrah outdoor setting. In the heat, they have completely melted and it has absorbed into the wood.

How do we remove it???

You may want to try taking a wet rag sit over the area..then using a steam iron on the medium setting. Set on the rag and move over the area 30 secs at a time. Be careful not to burn the wood or yourself. It should melt the wax and pull it into the rag. If not i would clean the area best you can with a solvent and restain. Not going to match but that would be the only thing left.

Once clean, sealing the wood will prevent this from happening again.

Water on wax will be ineffective because wax repels water. Scrape away excess and use the warm iron method for trying to lift wax out of wood. It is not likely that you will have much success as the hot wax has been absorbed deep into wood fibers. Attempts to apply surface finish will encounter adhesion problems in areas where wood received wax.
