removing Balmex from hair
Hello,
My three year old applied an entire tube of Balmex to her hair...
We have washed it about 15 times with shampoo, but the petrolium seems to be bonded to her hair. Is there anything we can safely use to remove it?
Thanks,
vtaylor

Rubbing alcohol may work....i wouldnt feel safe trying it. But then again...that would be the safest solvent. You may want to get a few alcohol wipes and try a few areas of hair to see what it does. Since its a oil based product it will require a solvent to remove.

For petroleum based stains, I like to use mineral spirits. Not sure I'm comfortable using it on a child. A dish soap that claims to cut grease well would probably be the first thing I'd try.
