Pewter repair
We are attempting to help Katrina victims who have sustained damage to many pewter bowls, trays, etc. Can't find many who have insight as to how to buff luster back to finish. Polish will not remove the flat look after standing in saltwater for hours. Will appreciate any info you have.

Not sure if salt water damage is fixable. Dremel makes an assortment of brushes for cleaning and polishing metal. Stainless steel, brass and bristle. They also have a polishing compound that is used with their buffing wheel. Just a thought. Good luck.
