Clean magic marker from sandstone

Unhappy Clean magic marker from sandstone

My 5 year old daughter wrote in magic marker on our sandstone fireplace hearth. Have tried lestoil and kerosene. Anyone have any ideas???

Alcohol is the preferred solvent for ink. Rubbing alcohol is the most common product used, denatured alcohol is also common.

Marker on sandstone will likely be removed by sanding with sandpaper.
