Easy Microwave Cleaning
I just discovered this the other day. Completely by accident.
I don't know about the rest of you, but our microwave gets used a lot, and it gets dirty a lot. We have to clean it every other day, or I can't stand to look at it, let alone cook in it.
I was cooking pasta, and the microwave was all steamed up inside when the pasta was finished.
I grabbed a sponge and wiped it all down in about 2 minutes. All the hot steamed water, had loosened the baked on ketchup, grease, cheese, etc. It wiped off with almost no effort, and I didn't have to spray a chemical inside the microwave. In the past, I've used spray cleaners, such as Fantastic, 409, etc.. But, I always end up "rinsing" the chemicals away with a wet sponge afterwords, because I don't want to risk eating chemicals or feeding them to my kids.
Now, I just pop a quart size bowl of water in the microwave and let it run for about 8--10 minutes. Thats enough to steam it all up inside and loosen baked on goop. Wipe it down in 2 minutes, and no chemicals involved.

I learned this a long time ago by accident too. We often steam cook rice and broccoli in the microwave. Yes, the steam loosens everything up so every time we STEAM cook something, the rule is to wipe it down after. Basically, or microwave is never dirty. lol
