Asbestos ceiling with smoke stains...
A friend of mine had a small accident in the kitchen, which led to smoke covering the walls and the ceiling. While most of the damage can be primed and painted over, I'm not sure what to do about smoke stains on Asbestos. Any ideas?

Use a couple coats of good primer sealer like Zinnser. If ceiling is popcorn containing asbestos and never been painted, apply oil base paint as water will dissolve popcorn.
