Ink stain on Hard wood

My dog ate threw a black pen and there is a slight outline of ink where the ink was, is there anyway to get that out?

Most commerical cleaners for ink may damage the finish so be careful if you use something like "OOPS", always test first. Another trick I've seen used to remove ink from vinyl flooring is Aerosol Hairspray. Good Luck

If hardwood flooring has polyurethane finish, perhaps acetone will remove ink stain. Acetone will not harm polyurethane. You may also want to use #0000 steel wool, rubbing along grain, to provide a little abrasion to remove stain.

Knowing what kind of ink and the finish on the floor can help. Hairspray is not a good idea. The ingredient in hairspray that dissolves ink is alcohol, but hairspray also contains lacquer, which will hinder ink removal. Also, alcohol can harm some floor finishes. If this is permanent ink, you'll need a solvent containing naptha, like Ooops!, which could be very hard on the floor's finish.
