vaseline and microsuede

Our 3 year old son decided this morning that the microsuede sofa was looking a little dry, so he gave it a coating of vaseline
Any ideas how to get this out? Standard microsuede care recommends warm water and mild soap, but says nothing about vaseline.
thanks!

The prefered solvent for petroleum based stains is mineral spirits, but this cannot be used on microfiber (polyester). I would try rubbing alcohol on a clean, white rag, blotting from the outside of the stain toward the center to prevent spreading. Testing in an inconspicuous area first to determine color fastness would be a good idea.
