Mildew on baby stroller

I have been given a used baby stroller that has mildew on the fabric of the seat and hood. It is in otherwise excellent condition, but I won't use it until I can thoroughly clean the fabric. Unfortunately, the fabric does not appear to be removeable from the stroller. I am unsure what the material is but it seems to be a lightweight canvass.
What should I use to clean it?
Thanks much

I'm sure someone will be along soon who can help you with removing the mildew -- but if not, or if it doesn't work, do not use that stroller. The possibility of your baby's allergies might be small, but the consequences are very bad. I'm sure you already knew this, but it's good to reinforce this, right?

Nellie,
That is also my wife's opinion, and I think you're both right . I will give the stroller back and buy a new one. It's not worth the potential trouble.

I think that's a good idea.

For future reference, here's information on removing mildew:

I know this puzzle is the last thing you want to think about right now, but

the fabric/vinyl parts ARE removable, somehow. Mine employed hidden snaps.

Thanks everyone for your help. Today I went out and bought a new stroller. I just don't want any mold/allergy problems, plus the old stroller was a nightmare to fold/unfold.

Fabric can be washed with disinfectant cleaner like Lysol or enzyme digester cleaner which digests mold and mildew, but mold and mildew stains tend to be impossible to remove.

Using equal parts lemon juice and salt works wonders! Mix into a paste and spread onto the infected area. Set out in the sun to dry. After the mildew is faded, rinse well and again set in the sun to dry. Tilex Mildew Root Killer also works great but is a harsher chemical.

I gave the stroller back three years ago, but that is a great tip. I will remember that for next time.
