Any suggestions for removing a rust stain on vinyl flooring.
Caused by hard water from a water cooler?

Welcome to DIY!
is it sheet vinyl or vct?...if its sheet vinyl oxalic acid may remove it...dampen the area with a little cool water.. apply acid to the area leave on no more than 20-30 secs at a time. rinse with cool water again, repeat as needed. Be warned sometimes the rust penetrates the wear layers of sheet vinyl making them impossible to remove. Check the lable for any warnings against use on your type of flooring. You can grab it up at your local home improvement store. Check the label to make sure its oxalic acid..there is another rust remover out there..hydrocolric acid...this removes rust, skin and just about everything else..so dont use that
if its vct...vinyl composite tile and its finished stripping the area and refinishing may work

BarKeeper's Friend and Zud, powdered household cleansers, contain oxalic acid. Dampen affected area, sprinkle with cleanser, and let set. Rub with damp cloth. Repeat as needed to remove rust.
