Unhappy Removing Pine Tree Sap From Fabric

Would anyone know how to remove pine tree sap from fabric. I got some on my mother's black microfiber rocker, and need to know how to get it out. I am afraid to try something, in case it ruins the fabric or something! It can't be machine washed, but it is only a small spot, not majorly big! Thanks for any ideas you may have.
Thanks Again

Try WD40 on a clean rag, blotting from the outside of the stain toward the center to prevent spreading.

My mother always used some of dad's lighter fluid. You can also use another solvent such as denatured alcohol, dry cleaning fluid, minerals spirits, or other household solvent. Test first in inconspicuous place for ill effects on fibers or dye.
