Unhappy Rubber mark stains on vinyl

We've tried everything we could think of but we can't remove the dark stains left on the white vinyl flooring by the rubber pads under a table and chairs set. We are very nearly to the point of replacing the entire floor. We tried all sorts of cleaners and they had little to no effect. Have you got any advice for us?

If marks are on surface of vinyl, they can be removed with mineral spirits. If stain has been absorbed into vinyl, it is likely the stains are permanent.

Vinyl can be kind of nasty in that any stain that penetrates into it is probably never coming out. If the mineral spirits don't work, the only other thing I can think of would be a mild abrasive, like a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

depending on the material the pads are made out of....

felt...they should come out if on surface with a solvent, then rinse

if its a plastic...or lower grade..there may have been a polymer transfer into the wear layer, which is permanent

metal...go with a rust remover and rinse
