it probably soaked thru the upholstery and is IN the cushions.

you can try an enzyme digester, or Fabreeze, or get new batting for the cushions, or start shopping for a new sofa (which is what i did after my nephew hurled on ours)!

If the odor is in the foam, this could be next to impossible to remove. I've never been impressed with Febreeze, we use Odoban as an odor remover, but I wouldn't guarantee results here.

Vomit is organic and requires an enzyme digester cleaner/deodorizer. These are marketed under a variety of names such as OdoBan, Out, Nature's Miracle and others. As indicated, if vomited soaked into cushion beneath upholstery, there is no way to clean there. Liquids tend not only to settle downward but three to five or more times in an outward direction from the affected area on the surface. Thus, odor will tend to persist.

Cushions can be taken to an upholsterer to have the padding replaced if age and value of the couch warrants this.
