Kitchen Cabinet Help

Our kitchen cabinets are a light oak color with a clear varnish. The problem that I am running into, the cabinets about the stove are now also covered in grease due to lack of cleaning by the previous owners.

Any suggestions on removing the grease? I have tried TSP with a variety of pads. It removes the dirt, but not the grease/oil.

Would try a quailty citris based cleaner...apply let sit 5-10 mins then wipe clean with a wet rag with hot water. Repeat as needed.

If it is grease, it needs an organic solvent to dissolve it. I'd try rubbing alcohol, as it should not harm the finish on the cabinets.

The last house we lived in had nice oak cabinets. I cleaned the grease off with Fantastic or 409 Citrus Cleaner--I sprayed it on, let it sit a minute or two, and wiped it off. It worked great, and the cabinets looked nice and shiny afterwards.
