Cleaning 100% cotton sofa cover?

I just bought a used sofa that has a beige 100% cotton covering (non-removable). It has a few stains on it. For sure, some of the stains are coffee, but it looks like there are other spills (probably water) and minor stains and discoloration of unknown nature. Nothing serious, like ink or red wine, etc. What is the best way to clean this? Thanks!

Check for cleaning label. Proceed with caution with cotton upholstery. Some imported cotton upholstery fabrics and dyes are not as durable as USA made. Always test any DIY cleaning product or method in inconspicuous place first for ill effects. Cotton dyes can bleed. Fabric can shrink. Water and water-based cleaning methods can leave water spots and staining. Older stains and baked-in soil can be impossible to remove. If in doubt, contact a professional upholstery cleaner. Pros have specialty chemicals for cleaning, but there is no guarantee with stains, especially old ones.
