Wooden Range Hood Cleaning

I have beautiful cherry kitchen cabinets including a range hood. What is the safest way to clean the grease build up on the hood without damaging the finish.

Maybe a "dawn" dish detergent mixture? I use dawn for regular dish cleaning, including wooden salad bowls, and I have not seen any problems.... Of course, these do not have a shiny finish.....

Maybe try it in an inconspicuous place?

Cabinet manufacturers recommend cleaning with mild soap and water solution, rinsing with plain water, and buffing dry with soft cloth. It is best to clean periodically to prevent grease buildup.
