Dawn on Carpets

My son spilled a bunch of dawn on the carpet and every time I try to clean it out it immediately foams up. Is there a solvent that will help prevent this? As well the bluish purple color is still on the carpet will that stain come out or is there someway that I can remove the stain?

Call a professional carpet cleaner. The pro has defoamer products and chemicals to remove stains. He also has the proper equipment with powerful suction to remove excess moisture from carpet. The problem will be with the dish liquid that has been absorbed into the carpet cushion. Spills not only travel downward but outward several times the size of the spill on the surface. The dish liquid will continue to work its way back to the surface of the carpet and and attract soil and cause permanent stain. Carpet should be pulled back, subfloor cleaned, and new cushion installed in affected area.
