What's the finish, if any, on the table?

I'm not really sure. Is there any way I can find that out? I know that it's from ashley furniture and I kept some of the documentation on it, but I can't seem to find that information on it.

Most commercial finishes are lacquer. Use mineral spirits on a clean rag and see what this does in a inconspicuous spot - shouldn't do anything. If that's the case, try this on the stain.

You might also try taking a soft cotton cloth, like a baby diaper, and placing over the stain and then ironing it with an iron. Many times the wax will melt and be absorbed into the cloth.

Be careful not to get the wood too hot.

If you haven't done anything yet, I think I'd try Rick's suggestion before mine.
