Hard Water Stain Removal Anyone with hard water or water with minerals. You will get that disgusting looking buildup in the bottom of the toilet bowl. Turn off the water and flush so the bowl remains empty. Dump enough white vinegar into the bowl to cover the stain. Leave sit overnight or all day and then scrub with a toilet brush.Really heavy deposits may need multiple treatments. Use on a regular basis to prevent the heavy buildup from re-occurring. Hello! Well the title pretty much says it all. I've been after this stain all day with no luck. It happened around 9am this morning, near empty bottle of wine from the previous night sitting on my coffee table, the dog walked by with his tail wagging, and a few seconds later there is a big red stain on my beige carpet.. :eek: Unfortunately, maintenance for my apartment complex was working on the pipes today and there was no water to my building at the time of the spill, so i had no cold water to throw on it.:wall: I immediately tried to blot up as much of it as possible with a dry towel, but this wasn't incredibly effective lol, and the stain had about 3-4 hrs to sit.... So here's what I've tried so far: I gave it a fairly liberal amount of some oxyclean max force once the water came back on, and I scrubbed for a good 10 minutes. This lightened the stain, but not by much. After that, I tried some hydrogen peroxide mixed with water, and let it soak in and sit for an hour, but still no effect. I also tried heavily salting the area and letting that sit for a few hrs, then i added a mixture of water and vinegar, but still no progress. Finally, I decided to try the oxyclean again but as far as I can tell, there is no change in the lightness of the stain. This is a new apartment, carpet, etc. with a rather expensive deposit, so I'm willing to try just about anything, possibly even voodoo, to get this stain out! I was also considering buying an acid carpet dye and trying to hide the stain that way, but I'm fearful of damaging the carpet by doing so. Does anyone know of any other methods that might work?
