Need help removing hardened stains off berber carpet
Hello,
I have berber carpet on my stairs and over the last couple years since I had it installed it's been accumulating some dark stain that looks like it's hardened or crusted up within the fabric. Fortunately, the color of the carpet is somewhat dark and so sort of blends in with the design for the non-discriminatory eye but I certainly can notice it. Does anyone know what's a good remover to remove crusted stains, can't tell if it's food or even tar material, from berber carpet? I was tempted to us acetone as that's great at removing anything but think that would somewhat damage or fade the color. Thanks in advance.

Acetone will probably melt the carpet. Use lighter fluid. Soak the stain and try blotting it. If you think the stain may be more water based..... use rubbing alcohol and lighter fluid in equal parts.
