Removing hard water film inside drinking glasses
Our glasses are looking prty bad we have a softener, but still get the film. I have tried using :Muratic Acid" but no luck Has anyone ever found a way, to clean that film off{ hard water} stains i think thanks bob s

Another way of asking Pete's question: are you sure this is a film and not scratching/etching of the glass?

If you wash them in a dishwasher, it's most likely etching, not hard water film. If you're sure it's a film, try lemi shine in the dishwasher and make sure you use a rinse agent.

This is a light gray film it is very noticeable........dishwasher cleaned. My wife says its etching and i can't do anything about it>. She a pia now and then, May have to keep buying "new glassware' is her thoughts on this.Paper cups from here on. if shes right

Dishwashing detergent does etch glass and it's really noticeable on clear glasses.
Hate to say it but your wife is right--you either need to hand-wash all the clear glassware or buy new every few years.
