water damaged carpet
So here's the situation, the shower next to my bedroom was causing water to leak to my room under the carpet. Evidently no pan was installed when I bought the house. Had a pan installed and further more had the damage on the dry wall and under the carpet repaired.
Now the only problem is the carpet stains itself. I tried using a rented carpet cleaner from grocery store, but that didn't work. Before I buy a bunch of carpet clearner spray bottles, I wanted to get some feedback on how best to clean the stains. Attached are pictures of the stains themselves. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Try a paste of Oxyclean on a small area. It works great for stain removal. If it doesn't change the color of the carpet, use the paste on all of it, daub it with a wet towel to remove the residue, then vacuum.

Anything with oxalic acid should help. When you rent those machines from the supermarket, make sure that you get the upholstery attachment with it. You need it for the corners & close to the wall. Otherwise, the machine is worthless.
