mold in air in basement

Hello, I have a finished basement and had it flood three times since i've lived here. Two times it was professionally re mediated, the third time I cleaned it up myself and dried everything with a lot of fans.

I decided to buy a mold test to see if I had any issues. I did indoor in the basement and an outdoor sample. After 72 hours i've had one time little spot appear on the indoor mold sample, but a similar spot has appeared on the outdoor sample as well. Is this something to be concerned about, or is it just mold spores from the outdoors?

Hard to say but generally if everything was cleaned up, dried up well and the humidity is kept in check there probably isn't anything to worry about. I'd only be concerned if someone in the house suffers from respiratory ailments.

the second time it happened, I replaced the effected drywall and completely scrapped the carpet and installed tile. I have looked everywhere I can see and don't see any mold visibly growing.

Its hard to say if we suffer from respiratory ailments from molds because we both have pet allergies and we have a lot of animals, so we are generally pretty stuffed up to begin with.

There are mold spores present in all air, so your testing doesnt prove anything really. You would need a professional mold "spore count" sample taken to determine anything with any certainty.

IMO, if you dont see any clear evidence of mold you probably dont have anything to worry about.

Like said you need a true test taken. These test from the home stores are only for identification only.
