Testing for mold
I had a water heater go in my basement that caused nearby carpet to get wet.
I got all dried within 36 hours. However, I don't know how well the carpet dried underneath (padding,,,).
What woudl be the best way to test for mold within a couple of weeks to make sure I actually got lucky and don't need to replace carpet?

The best way to test for mold is with a mold test. More importantly do you have a reason or is there something going on making you believe you need a mold test? If everything is good like the carpet is actually dry and there are no musty smells then I wouldn't bother with a mold test.

@Norm201: it took me 10 hours to notice. Stared to dry at this point. Took about 36 hours to have carpet dry to touch.
