Magic Marker stains on flat painted walls
What do you use to remove magic marker and crayon on flat painted walls?

Magic marker is usually permanent. Denatured alcohol will usually remove crayon. Even if you remove it, flat paint will need to be repainted / touched up.

Just about any scrubbing of flat paint will burnish it to a sheen and most solvents which can affect the marker will affect the wall. Alcohol is typically a good solvent for ink while mineral spirits might be a better choice for the crayon but you could try the alcohol as well. Regardless, I would be ready with an oil based sealing primer and expect to be painting.
