Recommendations for cleaning socket set

This set has been neglected a bit and I'd like to clean and restore it to the extent I can. Thankfully, there's minimal rust and the points are all still quite solid.

Should I soak them in something? Scrub them? A combination?

You can buy penetrating/rust removers by the gallon.
PB blaster...... Liquid Wrench..... Kroil.... all come in a one gallon size.
Soak the tools in that for several days and they will come out like brand new.

After cleaning..... the sockets should be coated in a thin oil to prevent future rusting.

Good suggestions, thanks. I'm also seeing videos of spinning them in a driver onto scotch-bright or similar.
