Rust stains on vinyl around chimney??
I have some rust staining on the corner of my chimney that is apparently due to run off over the years from the chimney cap. I am going to try and clean it off but thought I would ask for suggestions before working on it. The chimney is wrapped in what looks like a vinyl that looks like stone. Anyway the stains run down one corner.

Rust is awfully hard to remove from vinyl since it leaves a stain. Try Zud cleanser. (Powder) Or maybe CLR rust remover, (liquid) mixed with just a little Aloe Vera to turn it into a gel that can just sit on there and work for a while.
My guess is that after you work on it a while you will decide to just paint the vinyl.
And id recommend you paint your galvanized cap with a couple coats of cold galvanizing paint.
