What's the difference between engine degreaser and wd40?

Does wd40 also lubricate or something?

WD-40 is basically a water displacer but because of good advertising...
it can be used for everything.
It does have some lubricating qualities but they are very short term.

Engine degreaser usually contains a grease dissolver....
sometimes an aliphatic hydrocarbon like diesel.

WD-40 would make a poor degreaser.
