Aluminum stains on plates

What is the best method to remove that ugly black stain that is left by aluminum? The stain is on glazed dinnerware(plate). Thanks...Sommoner@xxxxx.com

That big black ugly stain is probably Aluminum Oxide which is Aluminum's version of rust. Use a damp sponge and baking soda. Rub the spot lightly adding more baking soda as you go. This will take some time, but should remove the stain without harming the plate.

A product named Bon Ami is a better abrasive for glazed surfaces than baking soda.

Both will work and both are inexpensive. Hopefully, the original poster has solved the problem after six years.
