Heavy duty wall hanger

Heavy duty wall hanger

I would like to know what kind of equpment I would need to mount somthing very heavy(light fixture-50lbs) that hangs from a wall inside of my closit. If anyone has any ideas please let me know, looking for the right vocabulary to start my search. Thanks

Welcome to the forums

You would want to attach to structure for something that heavy, not rely on the drywall to hold it.

How would you go about doing that? Buy some wood and make a frame? I have no idea what I'm doing!

The structure in the wall - the studs. That make any sense to you?

yes, find the studs and I can use ____ to mount my light? What should i buy? screw mounts? mounting screws? bike rack mount?

You say you're mounting a 50 lb. light fixture to the wall inside a closet.

What will be, or is, stored in this closet? How close to the nearest shelf or hanging rod will the light fixture be? What kind of lamps (light bulbs) does the light fixture take?
