Closet organization - overlapping rods?
My closet is a rectangular shaped walk in. Is there a better way to handle the 3 rods (one on each wall) than putting one above/below the cross rod? In reality, the closet will be double hung so there will be 6 rods. I think it will look odd overlapping them but am not sure of any other options.
A bracket that attaches to the wall to hold the rod on one end I guess would be a possibility but a rod loaded with clothes is heavy and there is a good chance a stud won't be where it is needed.

Closet rod? Wow, I haven't seen one of those installed in a while - I only see those wire rack systems these days and would use that myself as well.

That's what every cheap builder puts in. With an 8-ft ceiling. If you do double hanging the shelves are pretty useless.
I'm combining some other pieces with the rods to make it look like a custom closet on the cheap

Works best when the side rods go wall to wall then the one in front of you is on wall brackets, supported near the ends. It butts into the other two... or can be coped to fit nicely, with a finish nail on each end through the back side. If your using metal rod, it's similar but you obviously can't nail it.

I thought about that, but what's the chance there's going to be a stud where you need to put the bracket?
On a related note, does anyone know how they install cedar closets? It is home was built in 1949 and the closets are all cedar. I'm guessing the cedar is pretty thin and that is attached to the studs directly?
