How many times are you splitting the line? What devices are you connecting? Any cable modems?

it is possible that it may be split a max of only one other time. i cant seem to get to where the two cable originate. i will only be using a tv at any/all locations---no modems.

If I understand you correctly, you will have 3 TV's total? That shouldn't be a problem. You shouldn't even need the amplifier for the line. If possible, you would be better making all your splits at one place. In other words, instead of using 2 - 2 way splitters, use 1 - 3 way splitter. This will give you the best signal to ALL your TV's.

Unless it was done by you or a previous homeowner, usually the cable company will split at the box, depending on how the house was wired and everything too.
