Looking for a solution

I recently purchased a two handset system made by Panasonic. I was interested in this setup because it was a corded base with a cordless additional handset. This is because the one phone line in our house, in the kitchen, does not have an outlet near it. This setup was advertised without an answering system, and made no mention of an a/c adaptor for the base. Unfortunately, when delivered, it apparently has an answering system and requires the A/C adaptor for the corded base. We already have an answering system on our phone in the bedroom. These two handsets were intended to replace the kitchen unit and also provide the additional unit in our office. What are my options? Is there any way to get the corded base to work without an outlet being put in?

Cordless phones, as well as answering systems require more power than the phone company provides.

You cannot use either without providing power.

Your options are to run phone lines or run power lines. Both of these are inexpensive options.
