Fax Machine

My fax machine [a Sharp] delivers outgoing faxes with a 1/2 inch border on both sides of the paper. Is there any way to get rid of these lines? What is causing them? When I recieve faxes from someone else, these lines do not show up on my incoming copy. Thanks, Mike

check the glass under where the outgoing fax goes, it may have something on it that is being read when you send the fax, you can clean it with a lint free cloth & rubbing alcohol.

You are very welcome. I've used fax machines on a regular basis at my last job... it's a nightmare if someone runs a fax thru that has wet ink on it or white out that's not completely dry. I use to on a regular basis, take a "copy" of a blank piece of paper to make sure the "reader" was not picking up anything else. Good luck.

Wink

Valerie,

Thanks so much for your advice. The glass had dried white out caked on it as you described in your last post. Cleaned it and it works perfectly...sending crisp and clear faxes. Your experience is greatly appreciated. Mike
