Telephone wiring
I am trying to run an additional jack outside to my deck. I am working with cat 3 cable, with 1 line in the house. At the outdoor wiring block i have the blue/white wires hooked up to the green connector, which wires do i run into my NIC? I tried hooking up the blue/white connectors, however i get no dial tone..HELP !!

Take a look at http://phonewiring.safewatchservice.com and see if that helps. If you still have questions, feel free to ask. The only reason I say look there is because I have pics and some pretty good diagrams that should explain everything for you.
Basically, all you need to do is connect the same wires to Red and Green at the NID that you connect to Red and Green at the Jack - forget about the black and yellow terminals, they aren't needed (unless you have another line.)
