3 pair
I am trying to add some extra phone outlets in my house. I looked at the wire and there are three twisted pairs. Green, Orange and Blue. The thing is I can't seem to find this type of wire anywhere. The closest I can find is cat3 4pair. Can anyone tell me where to get it?

Green, Orange, Blue is Cat3 - or something similar anyway.
Just use whatever you've got or can find, even Cat5 will be fine for phones.
Just make sure you know what's connected to what.

Im sure you could still find cat3 3 pair the question would be why bother ?
I still find electrcians wiring some farily high end homes with quad wire (two pair not evan cat3 ) all to save a few cents.
like brandon said I would go ahead and pull 4 pair cat5e if you are buying new cable its within .01 a foot of cat3 usually
if you already have the cable cat 3 will be fine
4 pair has prety much been the standard for 10+ years
