Panasonic cordless phone with sticky key pad

I have a Panasonic cordless phone (model # KX-TGA230B) with 2 handsets, one with the base which also has an answering system...
We have had this for about 2 or 3 years, but for the past few months the keypad has started to act up. When numbers are pushed they either not recognized or as you push them hard to get the number it doubles it up. I spent good money on this phone and I hope I don't have to replace it.
Can I get the keypad and replace it myslef ?
Any suggestion?

Yes, probably. Is it worth it? No.

I've never been able to fix this problem, but cleaning out the inside of the handset by taking it apart did buy more time.

Try removing the battery and cleaning the entire inside of the phone with rubbing alcohol. Make sure it is compeltley dry before you reattach the battery.
