Problem with My Phone's Modular Line Cord

The signal on my home telephone keeps going on and off. There's nothing wrong with my service. The problem is with the modular line cord which is impossible for me to replace. The connector that clips into the phone's bottom has loosened after all these years of movement and tugging. It would be simple if I could just disconnect the other end from the wall jack and get a new cord. The problem is that I cannot get to the wall where the other end of the modular line cord connects into the wall jack. So I am stuck. When the phone works, I get static and the call is often interrupted. People assume that I hang-up on them and I have lost many friends as a result. My friend says there is a way to strip the cable's loose ends and make a new connection but I am not mechanical. You should see how long it took me to learn how to change a lightbulb or to change the toilet paper. Can anybody help?

Are you saying the wall jack or the plug on the phone is loose?

You can probably change out the phone jack easy enough.

If the phone cord is removeable from the phone, you can easily replace that.
