trying to hook up new phone line for dsl

I just got DSL and only one phone line so I wanted to hook up another line directly to the box. I hooked up the phone wiring and followed the template and do Not get a dial tone. So I tried to hook up the dsl line to the one phone line I have in the house. Which is hooked to my dish network and to a single telephone. I put filters on all of the lines and I still can't get my dsl to work. I wonder if my phone wire is not hooked to the box correctly. Because my computer is two rooms away from the phone jack. and I wanted that second phone line. I don't know what to do. Thanks for your help.

 

Don't worry about DSL until you get a dial tone. Phone jacks are easy to connect. Make sure you connect to the two wires properly on each end. Once you get dial tone, then worry about DSL.
